The Huaxia International Cultural Exchange Center, a subsidiary of Huaxia Chinese School, is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and cooperation between China and the United States. The center aims to enhance understanding and friendship between the peoples of both countries through a wide range of activities, educational programs, and cross-cultural interactions. We work closely with domestic and international educational institutions, cultural organizations, and community groups to provide learning and experiential opportunities in Chinese culture for students of all ages and the general public.
Founded in 1995, Huaxia Chinese School is a non-profit educational institution managed by volunteers, focused on promoting and teaching the Chinese language and culture in the United States. Currently, Huaxia Chinese School operates 22 branches across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, serving over 7,000 students. The school offers Chinese language courses from beginner to advanced levels, as well as various cultural activities such as calligraphy, martial arts, and dance, aimed at fostering students' interest in learning Chinese and enhancing their appreciation and pride in Chinese culture.
As part of Huaxia Chinese School, the Huaxia International Cultural Exchange Center extends the school's mission beyond language education to include organizing a variety of cultural exchange activities, bridging the cultural dialogue between China and the United States. For example, we have successfully held four editions of the “Huaxia Cup” Painting Competition, encouraging students to express their understanding and love for Chinese culture through art. The annual “Huaxia Star” event provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and learn about traditional Chinese arts. The Huaxia Arts Festival attracts artists from both China and the U.S. to perform together, enriching community activities. Additionally, we actively participate in Sino-American youth art exchange events hosted by the Consulate General of China in New York, providing a platform for youth from both countries to learn from and interact with each other, enhancing their mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultures.
Through these diverse programs and activities, we not only offer opportunities for students and the public to learn about and experience Chinese culture, but also actively promote friendship and cooperation between the peoples of China and the United States. We believe that these efforts will further strengthen the cultural ties between our two countries and contribute to building a more harmonious, understanding, and inclusive international community.
